Join Digital Services | Connect as the Functional Analyst Practice Manager, leading a large community of analysts who help shape and improve the University's digital products and services.
This is a key leadership role focused on building capability, driving best practice, and ensuring analysis services enable successful delivery across a complex and evolving technology environment.
- Lead and develop the Functional Analyst practice, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Partner with Product Engineering, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to deliver effective digital solutions.
- Champion best practice analysis across the product and application lifecycle.
- Guide solution and technology decisions, balancing innovation, consistency, and risk.
- Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional development across the practice.
- Provide people leadership, including coaching, performance development, and workforce planning.
This position is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) permanent opportunity.

This role will be based at our modern offices at the Newmarket Campus, with some work across the City Campus as required. Flexible working is supported depending on business needs.

You are an experienced people leader with a strong background in analysis, technology delivery, or digital products. You bring a practical, customer-focused approach, build trusted relationships quickly, and enjoy developing both people and capability.
- Proven experience leading and developing large teams (20+), with at least 3+ years' experience managing sizeable functions or teams of comparable scale and complexity.
- Strong understanding of business and functional analysis practices across complex systems and platforms.
- Experience working in Agile environments and supporting successful product delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- A strategic thinker who can also navigate operational priorities and competing demands.
- Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience working in large, service-based organisations or higher education environments would be advantageous.

The primary objective of Connect is to provide technology services that support the University’s core functions, including Administration, Teaching, Learning, and Research, while enhancing the student experience.
As part of Digital Services, the Functional Analyst practice sits within the Product Engineering Department at our Newmarket Campus. We are committed to delivering high-quality digital outcomes in an Agile IT environment.
