Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to join the English Language Academy (ELA) and be part of a team delivering high‑quality examination experiences for students and external candidates.
As an Examinations Administrator, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of the examinations centre, working across the full exam lifecycle but with a focus on delivery, from planning and preparation through to test‑day delivery and some post‑exam activities.
This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with a supportive team and interact with a wide range of people, helping to ensure exams run smoothly, securely and in line with requirements.
You will:
Support exam bookings, scheduling and planning processes
Help prepare for test days, including coordinating rooms, materials and staffing
Assist with running exams, including invigilation and candidate support
Maintain accurate records and ensure exam security and compliance requirements are met
Respond to candidate enquiries via phone and email
Assist with post‑exam reporting and administrative tasks
Contribute to wider administrative and operational activities within the ELA
Support improvements to processes and ways of working.
This role includes weekend and some evening work to support exam delivery.

This is a full-time permanent role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

You will bring:
Some experience in administration, customer service or a similar role
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Confidence using Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel)
A positive, adaptable approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes
A customer‑focused mindset and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience working in examinations or education is helpful, but not essential, training will be provided.
